The Yukon Wild Sheep Foundation and Environment Yukon Hunter Education will be hosting a Sheep Hunting Workshop April 21st from 1 – 4pm at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre.
All Hunter Education workshops are free and open to anyone interested in learning about hunting, regardless of experience level. This workshop includes information on Yukon Wild Sheep- Their habitat, age structure, health and population dynamics. The material has a strong focus on conservation, proactive approaches to sheep management and why they are essential. These include aging and selecting legal ram, tips and techniques including hunt prep, proper gear selection and safety in the mountains.
Do you have young up and coming sheep hunters. There will be a youth oriented workshop from 11 – 12am topics include sheep biology, habitat and some fun outdoor skills.
